^ NOTES
Strange that in the midst of well
doing we forget rat times to count
" our blessings and content ourselves
with having sudybut rather look on
the dark, side anj complain. Are we j
unlike the children of Israel? The i
"Silnday school lesson was discussed j
in the usual manner Sunday and I
many helpful leSsbns therefrom were
'" presented, which ^we might well^ap?ply.
We were visited by the District
Sunday', school Supt. Surtday?Mrs.
Wise?who made quite an interest~ing
tanriind review for the benefit
of the school and reported improvement
-in the Sunday school work for
the Columbia District. .
At ll-:15 a.?fflri--Dr.?E:?A A^lnnic
? presented Ur. t). H. Sims, Pres., Allen
University^who selected Isaiah 6,
and a part/of the-lst_verse: /'In the
year that King tjaziah died I saw the
? :?Lord." Asserted many wonderful
things ajre realized- by the sense of
sight or seeing. (Enumerating many
things in nature beheld by the natural
eye. But unless we have seert
.the Lord with our .spiritual eye, all
these are vain. Wonderful happenings
last in our memory. (Example
one's conversion.) When we see the
Lord ^en can we clearly see ourselves,^we
will confess and the-Lortf
can then use us. The sermon was
enjoyed very much by the many hear-,
ers. We are always glad to hear Dr.
Sims. \
The League service was good and
^_the discussions on the topic were
very helpful. You are invited each
Sunday at 6:80 p. m., to take a part
in this service; you wjU/ijot.regret
it, but find it a pleasure.
At 8 p. m., Dr. -Adams preached
from the 121st Psalms, 1st verse:
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the
hills from whence cometh my help."
r.iureating that in all things when
our burdens become" too heavy and
our way seems very dark an(j we are
about to give up in despair, if we
lift up our eyes unto the fyills ofjGod
rn" fafth"and~:trellet h^Jp'^will come.
The Sunday school selected the following
persons' to attend the District
Sunday School Institute at Lexington

Thelma Baumgardner, Miss Catherine

too many things cannot be said for ^

Rev. White has been faithful to Zion j
