Some of_the_m.ost- interesting features
of ^he-summer session, were the
" many literary entertainments given
: for the benefit of the student-teachers,
i These entertainmnts were gotten up

two was simply beautiful- Under the

of the Pelton' Practice School here
; and also one^ of the leading-teachers
in the Sumter system, a religious pageant
was giverr..(on the second Sunday
night. It represented the Ten
Virgins. Last Sunday night Miss
Usher gave anotehr-religious concert
with two pantomines?Lead Kindly

pleased the audience. very much.
Tuesday--night-an historic pageant
was conducted by Mrs? Celia D. Saxon

of the - arth was represented. The
play showed that much effort was
used in ^getting. it up and it was an
affair that would do credit to the
most cultured and prepared group of

Mrs. Saxon, is a historian. She knows

for the work are furnished by the
citizens of Orangeburg. Every Jiou'r
in the day'classes from the summer

been great help to the teachers and is
one >pf the big units in the work in
education in the session.
Mr. , one of' the fielcTagents
of" the general education board
in speaking of the work before the

wish we had some work of that kind
