: The schools of Newberry Co.
opened Qn l&st Monday with their
same enrollment alter 'having
two days off. The teachers^atv
tended the State Teachers, Convention
in Columbia. All opened
their schools with a better
determination to do real school
work and community service
than trere before. The teachers
were well benefitted by going.
Newberry was well represented.
Miss M. B. Pearson was elected
Sec. for the Vocational and Agriculture
group, Prof. U. 57 Gallman
and Mr. E. F. Floyd were
by the Association..
Sunday was a Spring day here,
the Sunday School at Miller Chapel
was crowded, the drive is on
and they are crowding the Sunday
School. Come on, wfe'll make
room for you! Rev. W. M. Sartor
preached the morning sermon
it was good, full of spiritual food.
? Mr. Jake-Richie died March
18, and was funeralized at Miller
- Chapel March 21 at 3 o'clock by
Rev. E. P. Ellis. Mr, Richie was
a good man well thought of by

white people honored him by
