' . - NOTES ^ -
, jiy
Special to the Palmetto Leader :-jch
Greenwood, S. C., Mar. 15?The tic
cently held in Mt. Pisgah^ A*. MJbe
E. Church was o successfiiTaffair | 1
Several hundred young people ch
were present and their friends.
A large chorus composed en- _
tirely of school children sang for
the occasion. The occasion was j
made both educative and enter- \y
taining for . the children. Two fth
Drignt minded young ladies who at
?<re splendid spellers v4on the lia
prizes offered; All of oar church
forooe havo united to put over
a splendid Easter Day Program. a
?The children in all of our chur- pr
ches^ should have a larger place ar
in our efforts thair is-now^-given ita
to them. The mistake of mio- ia'
takes that tnany of us are mak-'n,
yig is in th^heglect of our chil-"! si
dren of today. .After we have
sent them to school and trained
themf many of us are too selfish J
to give them & place to sjerve In tl
our churches. As x>ur attitude i
+?toward them impresses them n
i with the fact that they are not 1
wanted, they usually find other places
where they think they ^
are wanted, and thus many., of j
j our churches are bereft of a -s
great deal of . real help that v
might be given to them. When
fthey contract the habit of stay
ing awajr because they feel that j
they a<re cr.owded -out,- it is diffi- e
cult , to get them to reinvest a
vital interest in the. work of our j
churches. " ^
Immediately following our j
* Easter effort, our great evangelical
drive will begin. The services
of a splendid leader areatry
; our command, and thus we have ]
Ja deader of unusual power who
will Tead our forces7 Thus under)
God, we hope to march to victory
The services of Mt. Pisgah j
