The pastor preached two instructive and ^ spiritual sermons a large num. ber communed and offering was-good. Sunday the 8th, marks the! near approach of the conference just Wo Sundays now. Dr. Carroll will preaeh morning and evening: 10:30 and 8. Sunday school 12:30; V- C. E. Society 6:30. All are welcome, all are asked tojx)me and worship with us. . . He is a wonder in a revival. Last Sunday morning Dr. Mitchell opened up from the subfect: "Dependence on God," from which he shook thfe entire church with the gospel. Three Funerals in One Day. On Wednesday of last week there were three funerals at Sion in one dav; viz: Sisters Isajella Salley, corner Getvald and Harden; Ella Wright corner Scott and Sumter; and Ella Da/is, 700 block of Washington. The young Choral Club of the :hurch rendered the music. The following young girls were flower girls: Misses Amanda Starnes Inez Mangum, Malinda Washington and Hannah Dreher. .Tub ius was a member of this church having joined about five months Mrs. Delia -Lucius and nephew of Mrs. Frances Brown. At 6 a short song service was held. On' account of the bad weather, the programme was postponed until next Sunday. The public is invited to witness this prom am. _???? Prof. Dendy, principal of New Howard will speak on the topic. Some of Columbia^ best talent will appear on the program.
