Corporation Tax.
IN Pursuance of an Ordinance to raise Supplies
for the Town of Abbeville, the Tax
Book will be open until the first of March. No
return of taxable properly will be taken until
the parties are ready to pay the tux on the
tame. Il is expected that every person residing
within the Corporate Limits will pay as required
by the Ordinance, otherwise they may expect to
b? dealt with in the manuer prescribed by tbe fol>
lowing Sections:
Seq. 6. And be it further Ordained, That if
oy person or pereous shall fail, neglect or refuse
to make return to the Intendeni of hits her
or their taxable properly, incomes, sales or other
things taxed by this Ordinance, and pay the tax
thereou to the InteDdaut, on or before the first
day of March, then he, she or tliey shall he
double taxed. And all such persons shall be
then assessed by the said Council for ull his, her
or their property, or other things taxable by
this Ordinance, according to tfie best information
which ho can obtain of the value of sucli taxable
property, sales, incomes. Ac. : and nil siwli hit
on* shall thereon, rh aforesaid, be taxed, and
the same collected ashereiuafter provided.
Sko. 7. And be it further Ordained by the Authority
aforesaid. That the Intendant uiid Wardens
of the said Town Council shull issuo executions
and such final process as is provided by
law for (be collection of all such lines, tuxes and
double taxes as may be imposed by this Ordinance
; whieh executions and final process hhall
be issued under the corporation, and directed to
the Town Marshal, or other person specially npCinled
by the Council to collect the same, and
enforced and executed against the property
and person of defaulters to the same extent and
in the same manner as is provided by law for the
collection of the general State tax.

South Dovn RAM," were advertised for sale.
During the biddings I asked the Administrator
Marsha)), if the EWES And the It\M had run
together in the same pasture. And he answered
promptly "Yes." These circumstances induced
me to believe that the Ewes offered sale were
probably with young by the Imported South
Down Ram?and, under that impression, 1 bid
off ten of them. The day succeeding the sole
I ascertained that the supposed Ram was a
Wether?that the Imported South Down Ram
was a native of Cass County, Georgia, and that
the Ewes I bid off were not one of them with
yonng.
Under such circumstances, I declined to roeeive
the Ewes struck off to me, and ONE J.
W. W. MARSHALL, of Abbeville District,
may make the most of it.
