A Capacious Carpet Eng.
Meanness occasionally meets with a shock
that is a lc.?son (o nil concerned, especially
to the victim. 'Mi the Cleveland cars, a
short time since, coming to I'ntl'alo, was a
stalwart man, going to New York to buy
goods.
He was not what might be called a stingv
or close man, but l.o w;is one who, when
there was a cent due him. that swindling
might deprive him of would sacrifice a lil'ty
dollar bill to save t lie copper, f'nr (riend
had started ftom Cleveland without any
breakfast, and when Krie'-hovo" in sight, he
gathered himself up for any and all kinds

and going into the dining room at Erie,

the cars.
