Yellow Fever.
This terrible disease lias made its appearance
in Charleston. Up to Tuesday nijjlit
last there had boon seven cases, inclusive of
one deaths.
A Female Medical College.
*\Ve arc in receipt of a pamphlet circular
of the Pennsylvania I'emalc Medical
Collge, which Institution lias its ''local
habitation" in the city of Philadelphia.
In the list of students for I Rr? 0 we see
the names of Cattic Moore ami Margaret 10.
Moore, set down from Smith faroHnn.
There is also one from North Carolina, and
one from Virginia. Wo have no won! of
commendation lor such an institution. Woman
was never designed for such pursuits,
and when she departs from her appropriate
and peculiar sjiliero the tendency inevitably
is to depreciate those virtues without
-which she is a curse rather than a blessing
to society.

From correspondency sent lo the Senate

In many cases of disordered stomach, a j

a teaspoonful of salt to a pint of colli water;
drink it and go to bed ; it is one of
i the speediest remedies known. The same |

water, with mustard added, and the legs
hrisklv rubbed, all bandages removed from
the neck, and a cold apartment procured,
if possible. In many cases of Severe bleeding
of the lung.-, ami when other remedies
failed, l)r. Rush found that two teaspoonfuls
of salt completely stayed the blood. Tn
case of a bite from a mad dog, wash the
part with a strong brine for an hour, and
then bind on some salt with a rag. In

' pail, ami 10moved two or three times, will
relieve it. in most eases. It* the gums bo
allWted, wash the month with brine. If
the teeth he covered with tartar, wash them
twice a tlay with salt and water. In swelled
neck, wash the part with brine, and drink
it, also, twice a da}', until cured.
Salt will expel worms, if used in food in
a moderate degree, and aids digestion, but
salt meat is injurious, if used much.?Kx.
