and we might, say impossible to bring proof

Considering the great, difficulty in protecting
ourselves and the public by prosecuting parties,
we have been to a very great expense in getting
up a finely excuted
STEEL EXGIiA VKD LABEL,
for our bottles. We also attach to our bottles
a Steel eiurravcd Note of hand, which we issue
as our obligation, and to counterfeit which is
held to be fortrery by the laws of the t'liited
States, and which parties will not dare attempt
to do. Tile great expense attending the getting
up anil printing of these labels will prevent
the attempt to counterfeit, thus securing
to the public that the at tiele thev purchase is
the genuine Perry Davis' Pain Killer, manufactured
l>y Perry Davis tt Hon, sole proprietor.
The Pain Killer will le put in a new stylo
of panel buttle, with the words,
Davis' Vegetable Pain Killer,
blown in the Glass. We have discontinued
the use of the 374 cents bottle?, and now put
up only four.size.*, viz: at 1*2.1, 25, 50 cents
and ?1 00 per bottle.
We have also a very fine engraving on;
Stone, for the Box labels, specifying the eontents
of the box, where ami by whom manufactured,
ifcc. We have also added to our pamphlet
of directions and certificates, a cover
beautifully finished, presenting on the first
page a very excellent likeness of Perry Davis,
the original inv.entor of the Pain Killer. The
bottle labels, ami fine label on each box, has
also a correct likene.-s of Perry Davis, u liieli
it will be impossible to counterfeit suceefsfullv.
We have been to this exper.se", that the public
might have perlect "confidence that, they
were getting the genuine article when they
buy n bottle as above described. To those who
have so long used and proved the merits of
our article, we would say that we shall continue
to prepare our Pain Killer of the best
and purest materials and that it shall be every
way worthy of their approbation as a family

hundred yards of the house, with running
water through most of the fields.
