DIED,
Died, in thin village, on the 8th instant* Miss
LOUISA J. ALLEN, in the 21st year of her
ago.
This young lady had been for several years
a member of the Presbyterian Church, lieing
possessed by nature of a sweet and gentle temper,
grace fast approximated in her its perfect
work. Her piety was deep, her life holy, and
her example a lesson to all.
She endured a painful illness with exemplary
patience, and beheld the approach of death
with calmness and even longing, having "a desire
to depart and to be with Christ."
She entered the dark valley ill triumph, and

eight, of the Lord is the death of hid saints."
She luis left a widowed mother and n large
eireleof near relatives and friends, wlio mourn
lier early death ; but they "sorrow not as those
who have 110 hope," for tliey have the blessed
assurance that "for her to die was gain."
This mournful event made a profound impression
011 the community, as exhihted in tlie
suspension of business while the funeral cortege
passed through the streets, in the large assembly
gathered at her obsequies, and in the
solemn countenances, tearful eyes, and saddened
hearts with which the last rites were
performed.
No one there present* or who is informed of
tho unearthly glories which crowned the last
scene in her life, can have failed to reiterate
the praver of Balaam. "Let il!/? ti>? i>

Cut down in the bloom of youth, bv the
band of violence, on the 2d day of April last,
FELIX GLENN LIVINGSTON. He had just
attained his 18th year, yet in him were happily
blended the dignity of a man with the gentleness
of a boy. He was unassuming, courteous,
generous and brave. Deeply indeed is
ho lamented by a large circle of friends and
acquaintances, and bis untimely and melancholy
fate has cast the deepest gloom over our

received pay in inoncv for their services, are
entitled. \Ve have, l>y five years' practice in
claims against the U. Government, become
perfectly acquainted with all the minute rules
and practice of that Department, and are well
known to the Commissioner of Pensions. We
will attend promptly to all claims entrusted to
us. As three hundred thousand persons are
entitled under this law, there will bo great delay
in issuing them, and it is therefore highly
important that application be mado without
delay.
We will also pay ensh for the "Warrant*, or advance
money upon them.
