WHEREAS, information lias been brought
to this department, by the Grand Jury
of Chesterfield District, that a murder was
committed in June, 1802, on the body of Lewis
Melton, by some person or persons unknown:
Now know ye, that to the end justice may
be done, I hereby offer a Reward of Two Hundred
Dollars for such information as -will lead
to the discovery and conviction of the murderer
or murderers of the said Lewis Melton.
Given under my hand nnd the seal of the

issuing them, and it is therefore highly

of 1846?Woverly by old Bertrand, of Kentucky
; dam by Blackburn's Whip; Bertrand
by the renowned horse Sir Archy; his dam
Eliza, own sister to the celebrated running
horse Gallatin, by imported Bedford. Jocas6ee's
dam was got by Bedford, a descendant
from the renowned Kirksey's colt, and lie by
the imported Bedford; his grand-dam by Phenomenon,
and he by Sir Archy; his g. g. dam
by Leopard, and he by the celebrated Quicksilver,
a horse of great renown in his day.
From this pedigree it will at once appear
that Jocatsee has descended from a pure ancestry.
