brother, Mr. Joel Wilson, wcio horribly
burnt.
Mr. W.Wilson had purchased three
of powder in our city, on that day, one ol

On arriving at his homo, lie placed the
remaining two lcegs in his house,
one of them, and was weighing some of tlie
powder, in a tin bucket, when a spark lYom
the file fell in the bucket, and from thence
to the open keg, both of which immediately
exploded, burning ootli the Mc>>rs. Wil
son dreadfully in tlio head, f;we, and
Mrs. Wilson gathered up her two little
children (who were on the floor) and rushed
into the yard with them, thereby saving
them and perhaps herself from n sudden and
horrible death.
After leaving her children in the yard
she ran into tlio house, and succeeded in
getting her husband and brother-in-law out
v. 01 ine nouse, not, however, before lior dress
was much burnt, and her hands slightly
scorched. v
The second keg exploded almost immodi
ately after she had left the house with hei

several places.
