the fact that the defendant acted as ' his own j|(
lawyer" on the trial, without having the ad- H
vantage of heing one of the legal fraternity. |](
llis "summing up," of which we are able
to give nearly a verbatim report, with the (|,
exception of the "acting," was decidedly ' j);
