"Take ripe tomatos, wash them in cold \
water, and boil them for twenty minutes;
have your cans (ot- bottles) prepared in tlie

The Pfovidence Tribune savs :?Father
Howard, a Roman Catholic priest, who lived
and presided over a congregation at lludson
city, N. Y., has beon drunk for the last four
weeks, and at a funeral on the 4th of J une,
or near that time, while at the grave, fell
into it and split the cover of the coffin in
two, and was so drank that he could not get
out without help. Sunday, June 18th, he
was so drunk that they would not let him
preach, and so shut up the church.
