The impurities and dangers are

onesville to Vote on Question ~of
Special School Levy.
The people of Jonesville want their
:hool system second to no town of
er size in the State. They are planing
an election for an increase in
ix levy of 2Vz mills, which will bring
er special tax up to 10 mills.
Mr. J. T. Scott, the clerk of the
oard of trustees, who has been cirulating
the petition, which has to be
resented to the county board of eduction
before they will order the elecon,
says: "I think there is practially
no doubt that the election will
arry. The people of Jonesville see
ae need of better educational facilies,
and they are willing to give of
leir means to help develop the best
1 their children."
The initial enrollment in the white
>wn school was so large that an ex a
teacher is badly needed in order
> do the work properly. And this is
nly one of the needs. Among others
re better laboratory facilities, repair
pon the building and another class
>om. All this has been taken into
>nsideration bv the board of trus
ses, and they, together with Mr.
uess, the superintendent, are workig
hard to meet the various needs.
At the last meeting of the board on
ionday it expressed its pleasure over
le work being done. They met while
le school was in session and made
leir nfonthly inspection. Mr. Guess
illed upon each member at chapel
id each responded with a few words
F encouragement to the pupils and
lachers. It has been decided to meet
ice each month and inspect the w"ork.
his is a great encouragement to the
lachers who are working hard to
jild up the schools.
The trustees are as follows: T. J.
ittlejohn, chairmaan, J. T- Scott, sec:tary-treasurer,
J. L. Calvert, Geo.
. Wood and W. B. Fowler. The town
to be congratulated upon having so
Ticient and public-spirited a board.
NEW "HOPE
New Hope, Oct. 2.?We are having
>me real October weather now. It
;ems as if it is cool enough for frost,
at none has been seen yet.
All farmers are now busy picking
>tton, but very little is being sold.
We learn that the Gault community
i going to have their fair. We wish
lem much success as it helps to build
p the community more. If we didn't
ave any fairs we couldn't see what
ich one was doing in the way of
reparing canned food. I think it is
le best way of displaying what we
ave in the food line.
The Bishop school opened Monday
lorning, October 1st, with the same
sacher, Mrs. James Whitlock of
onesville.
The community meeting will meet
t the home of Mrs. T. J. Bishop Friay
afternoon, October 5th. All memers
are requested to come.

.lOth.-" "When I began taking Tanlac
I had suffered for years with indigestion.
With this trouble I had had
nervous attacks, and my breath was
'so short I would pant for hours as a
person who had been running. I had
to be very careful of what I ate, for
everything I ate hurt me more or less.
I nearly always had a headache and I

"The Tanlac quickly ended that

not troubled with indigestion. Those
headaches were relieved and my whole
