Come One, Coi LOCKHART JUNCTION Lookhart Junction, Sept. 3.?Well, we have had the early and the latter rains, so there has been enouirh rain to finish all the late crops. I hear that I'acolet river is up and out over all the bottom land corn. This is bad, but it can' tbe helped. It was the same thing last year, but there is more upland com being made than I ^iave known in a long time before. If the corn is all ruined on the rivers we can't blame anyone for it, for God works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. This writer has not been away from home much these days to find much news, so I may not be able to give you anything of much interest. Things look dull around here and look lonesome as there are several of our men folks that have gone to Spartanburg and other places to work on the government buildings. I forgot all my troubles. This club was made up of many good-looking young ladies, but I will not tell you their names at this time. Now I will go back to the fun. Of course the sales had been going on for sometime and some shadows had been sold and bought, so after looking on awhile I thought I would buy a shadow, so others wanted my shadow and I made several bids , before I got one. Spears of Joncsville. t< His death was so soon after an operation for appendicitis. This is so sad ft to his parents, sisters and brothers and friends. Yes, and in the bloom of ^ life with a very short notice of death makes it the sadder. This makes the second young man to pass off the stage of life in Jonesville township recently.
