Miss Fanny Browne, kindergarten eacher fer Monarch village, left Satirday noon for her home in Charleson to spend the summer vacation. TORPEDO EXHIBITION. R. Ijl Harris, Petty Officer, U. S. Navy, who is in charge of the torpedo on display in Sumter, pave an interesting talk to the boys and girls of the high school Wednesday. He explained the working of the torpedo and its uses, going into detail as to the scientific part of the work. His talk was listened to by all with interest.?Watchman and Southran, Sumter. MRS. ELLER IN HOSPITAL. Mrs. Joe Eller left last week for Columbia to enter the Baptist hospital for treatment. Mrs. Eller has not been in good health for several months and it is hoped the treatment will completely restore her. Miss Nora Eller spent the week-end with her mother and reports her condition most favorable. ELKS TO OBSERVE FLAG DAY. The local lodire of Elks will nhconro National Flap Day June 14, at the Elks Home at 6:15 p. m. The ceremony of the order, and in this critical time in the history of the county is more appropriate than usual. The public is cordially invited to attend the exercses.
