AN ORDINANCE (Granting Special License by the City f I'nion. S. for the Fiscal Year beginning May 1, 1917. Section 1. That the following Special License Ordinance is hereby adopted and Ordained by the City Council on the Nth day of March, 1> 17. for the Fiscal Year, beginning Jlav 1st. 1917. That every person, tirm or corporation engaged in or engaging in anj tade, bu.-inoss or pofession hereinafter mentioned within the limits of the Ci y of I'nion. S. Sox "J. livery itinerant, trader or pyi a (except licer. ed auctioneer-;! olforing for sale or attemp t ing to sell bv sample within the City at public outcry or otherwise, any goods, wares. fai:cy articles, spectacles, jewelry, pictures, notions or other articles of like character or kind, shall pay in advance a license tax of not less than Five Hollas <> ">.00? per day, TwentyJive Hollars (s'jn.oO) per week or Two Hundred Hollars (SL'OO.OO) per year, and no plea of advertising or soiling for any person, firm or corporation of the City of I'nion, shall relieve the said itinerant trader or person from the payment of said license. Sec. J>. Kvery itinerant physician or vendor, seller of medicine, patent or of his own make, or practicing as an itinerant his profession or calling shall pay a license tax of not less than Ten Hollars ($10.00) per day or Fifty Hollars ($">0.00) per week, and no plea of advertising or selling for any per son, firm or corporation of the City of Union, shall relieve said physician, vendor or seller from the payment of <aid license. Sec. I. Each dray, carriage, bujrfry, automobile or other power vehicle, and each hack for public hire, conveyance or transportation, shall have a number thereon and the driver of such . vehicle shall keep that number exposed on such hack, dray, carriage, busriry, automobile or other power vehicle, and every driver thereof shall wear a duplicate number in a con_ 1 MM /"M 1_ 1 T - r>jriv_uuu:s |iiiiutr. Sec. 5. The maximum fee to be charged for each passenger within the corporate limits of the City of Union by such hacks, buggies, carriages or automobiles or other power vehicles, shall not exceed Twenty-five cents (25c) from any point within the corporate limits of said City to said passenger's destination: provided no fee snau no cnargea ior any passenger under five (5) years of age. The maximum fee to be charged for carrying baggage by hacks, carriages, buggies, automobiles or other power vehicles or drays shall not exceed Twenty-five cents (2">e) for .'500 pounds; Fifty cents (f>0e) for .''01 to 1,000 pounds, from any point within the City of Union to any destination * within the corporate limits of the City ? of Union; and upon any violation ofj m the charges as above limited by any m such public hack, carriage, buggy, auM tomobile, power vehicle or dray liW cense; such licensee shall upon conviction he fined not exceeding Ten Uollats ($10.00) or imprisonment not exceed mg i wemy t.-uj uays witn or without hard labor. Sec. G. Any driver or owner of any , such hack or carriage or buggy or automobile or other power vehicle for hire as aforesaid, including I.ivery, Feed and Sales Stables, who shall run any such hacks, carriages, buggies, automobiles or other power vehicles, who shall leave his, or her or their hack, or carriage or buggy or automobile or other power vehicle before mentioned, for a distance greater than ten (10) feet in solicitation of any passenger or otherwise at any depot within the City of Union, or who shall leave his. her or their hsirl, hnr^rrv carriage, automobile or other power vehicle standing unattended within one block of any depot or upon Main street from the court house to the iiaptist church shall pay a line of Five Dollars or be imprisoned for a period of ten (KM days with or without hard labor in the discretion of the City Council. See. 7. Any person or persons holding license, convicted of selling, transporting or storing whiskey, or other alcoholic liquors said license hall he revoked. Sec. S.
