All havt the sympathy of their many friends. Well, we have got the liquor dowr to one quart a month. I fooled about and failed to order myself even one gallon during all the gallon-a-month time. 1 guess 1 nave noi lost anything by my negligence. Was Christ a prohibitionist or was he only a temperance man? If he was a prohibitionist why did he have wine and why did he make wine during the wedding feast? We should be temperate in all things in eating, drinking, working, talking, yes, in everything. Dear women, you who have drunkard husbands, if you could do like one I heard of doing you would save more drunken husbands from a drunkard's grave than by abusing them and breaking and pouring out their liquor. I will give you the way she did. It is a fact that many poor unfortunate lovers of strong drink get the very best of women for wives and when they get on their sprees you can hear them saying, "I have got the best wife in thx country." On one of their sprees two of them got to disputing which had the best wife. Finally they decided to test their wives. They were to go to the home of one one night and then go to the other. About one or two o'clock in the night they started. They got to the home of one of them. He knocked or rang the bell; his wife had gone to bed; she was dressinb before opening the door. He began to curse because she was so slow. She embraced him and kissed him and told him to bring his friend in. lie quickly asked if she had any supper. She said yes, but it is cold. He began quarrelling why she did not have it warm. She replied, "I sat up until 11 o'clock to keep your supper warm; I >vas tired and sleepy and lay down." She said to him, "Talk to your friend and I'll soon have it warm." While she was warming his supper she was singing, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul." They eat and retired. Next morning while she was preparing breakfast she was singing "Rock of Ages." She got breakfast ready and called them in; they sat down to the table and she said. "Co ahead. I will wait on the table." As they began to eat the visiting friend said to her, "How can you he so cheerful with a drunken husband?" She said, "I have an unfortunate husband who loves strong drink and I know all the pleasure he will ever have will he in this world and I want to make him as happy as T can." That was the fatal shot; he left his knife and fork in his plate and said. "By 4Ua r* ~ A TM1 J-? * me nvi|> ui iiixi i ii 111-vcr <irinK nnother drop" and his friend said, "Nor will T." that "tended the test. Now, my dear women, it will take all the grace of God for yon to do as she <1 id. Tf you ever save your husbands it will he hy the power of love. T.ove is the greatest power in heaven or on earth. I believe it was David Crocket who said, "He sure you are right and then go ahead." We are continually hearing something new. Someone asked me the other day if I had any gourd seed.
