Wood of Pacolet has returned home after a visit to Mrs. L. J. Hames. Miss Annie Lee has returned to her home in West Springs after a visit to M iss Nora Eller. Miss Maude Goforth has returned from Saluda, N. C., where she spent her vacation. Miss Mary Withers of Chester is the guest of Mrs. Mabry S. Rice on East Main street. Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Barnes returned : last week from a pleasure trip to Washington, D. C. M iss Ada Langford is visiting friends and relatives in the mountains of North Carolina. Miss Vera Murrah returned Saturday from a fortnight's visit to relatives at Anderson. Dr. L. A. Riser of Columbia was in Union Tuesday for a short while on professional business. Mr. Manley Sanders of Columbia was in Union for a day or two the past week on business. Miss Florence Waldrop has returned from a visit to relatives at Central. Westminster and Atlanta. Messrs. James Bruce, Oscar Meyers and Hoyle Charles spent the weekend with friends in Clinton. Mrs. P. A. Simpson of Laurens is the truest of her daughter, Mrs. J. P. Morgan on E. Main street Mrs. Annie Webber of Summerton is visiting her sister. Mrs. Lizzie I lames, on S. Church street. M iss Mignon Goforth of Sunnyside is the guest of her cousins, the Misses Goforth, on Douglas Heights. Mrs. W. B. Crosby has returned to her home in Newton, Miss., after a visit to relatives in Union county. M iss Addie Colson has returned from Wadesboro, N. C., where she spent her vacation with relatives. Misses Lilla Hollingsworth and Lueile Hollingsworth have returned home from a visit to relatives at Clinton. Mr. John A. Rice of Jacksonville, Ela., is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Rice, on E. Main street. Mrs. S. KrasnofF is in New York and other Northern points, purchasing fall and winter goods for "The Wonder." Storm will leave Sunday for Georgetown to visit Dr. and Mrs. Harry Storm for several days. Mrs. W. H. Sartor and Misses Frances and Cathrine Sartor have returned from a week's stay at Hendersonville, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Jeter of Raleiph, N. C., are spending sometime with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Jeter, Sr., at Santuc. Walker, who is with the South Carolina troops. Messrs. Harold James and Claude Jolly returned Saturday evening from lligh Point, N. C., where they spent the summer vacation. Miss Louise Zeigler of Denmark spent a few hours in the city on Saturday en route to Jonesville, where she will teach this session. Rev. and Mrs. T. E. Morris of Bennettsville arrived last week to spend their vacation with their children, Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Peterson, on South street. Gen. W. W.
