Morgan, who has for some time held a position with Milhous Drug Co., has resigned. Mr. Rutledge Lawson returned last week from the Citadel, where he has been studying the past year. Mrs. George T. Keller and children; will leave next week for a visit to relatives in Orangeburg, S. C. Any young men who would like to join the hospital corps will confer with Dr. Theo. Maddox at once. Mrs. Mary Dean of Charlotte, N. C., is spending the week with her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Eison. Dr. Lewis Perrin, who has for the past few months held a position with Milhous Drug Co., has resigned. Mr. B. F. Gregory, formerly of Carlise, now of Chester, was a visitor in Union for several days this week. Mr. Herndon Thomson, who has been studying at Cornell University, is at home for the summer vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Carnell and children spent several days with relatives in Spartanburg last week. Mrs. C. R. Robertson and Miss Myra Young left this week for the summer school at Winthrop College. M iss Florence Wilson of Sumter will arrive Saturday to spend sometime with relatives before poinp to Saluda, N. C., for the summer months. Mr. C. M. Bailey is the first farmer to report a cotton bloom. He says he found one in his cotton field Thursday morning of this week. Miss Hardin of Charlotte, N. C., is spending some time with Miss Alice Purcell at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Purcell. Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Hapood, Jr., announce the birth of a son, June 18. The younp man is to bear the name of fleorjre Cleveland Hapood. Miss Christine Dillard of Spartanourg spent several days this week with her aunts, Misses Mizzie and Minnie Grepory, on South street. Miss Elsie Leonhardt and Mr. Murph Summer of Buffalo were married Sunday afternoon and are at home to their friends at Buffalo. Misses Lois and Apnes Townsend. who have been visitinp at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. T. Murphy, left Fri day for their home in McDonald, N, C. Mr. M. B. Lee of Boagnsville reports a fine rain in his community Tuesday. He says crops are pood, hut the grass is becoming hard to manage. Mr. Kelly Howze of Charleston spent the week-end with his father, Mr. E. C. Howze, leaving Monday morning for a business trip to Greenville. The Union Hardware company have recently purchased a motor delivery van to be used in their business here. The machine is made by the International Harvested Co. Miss Virgie Sellers of Easley was the guest of Miss Eileen Montgomery on "Douglass Heights." She was returning from the Hair-Cudd wedding in Bamberg. Mr. and Mrs. Emslie Nicholson and Miss Fiances Nicholson left Monday morning for Hendersonville, N. C., to attend the Bankers' Association in session in that city. Miss Leonora Arthur left last week for Unaka Springs, Tenn., to visit Miss Sallie Wallace at the summer home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I). H. Wallace. Miss Elizabeth Arthur has returned from a visit to Mrs. Clarence Owens in Columbia, where she went to participate in the commencement festivities at the University. Mrs. L. B. Jeter, Jr., and little son returned to their home in Santuc Monday morning after a few days' visit to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. McDow, on Gage avenue. Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Carter of Spartanburg, returning from their bridal trip, spent Saturday in Union visiting Miss Pe Ette Bennett, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bolton. Mrs. A. Elliott Darhy of Kensington, Md., spent the week-end with her niece, Mrs. Eli'as Prioleou, leaving Tuesday for her home. Mrs. Prioleau accompanied her as far as Spartanburg. Miss Ethel Darby will arrive this week to visit her college friend, Miss Lucy Smith, and together they will go to New York and other points of interest chaperoned by Mrs. John Darby. Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Barnes will entertain a merry house party the first of July and have as their quests, Miss Edith Barnes of Roanoke, Va., Miss Sara Orr of Asheville, N. C., and Misses Ivor and Hannah Browne of Seneca, S. C. Bishop Cluerry will make his visitation to the Church of the Nativity Sunday evening, at 8:30 o'clock. The public is cordially invited to attend the service. Bishop Guerry will he at Glenn Springs Sunday morning. Messrs. l.ouis and Albert Wilkins, who have been the guests of their aunt, Mrs. L. L. Wagnon, left Sunday morning for Pacolet, where they will visit for several days before going to their home in Spruce Pine, N. C. Mrs. J .R. Lewis and daughters, Misses Elsie and Martha Lewis, are expected in the city this week to spend several days with relatives, leaving Monday for Caesar's Head to spend the remainder of the summer. Mr. s. Krasnort received a telegram Tuesday from Plattsburg, N. Y., telling of his son, Nathaniel KrasnofT, being suddenly stricken with appendicitis there.
