Buffalo, June 13.?Miss Annie Belle j Brown, who was one of the popular and efficient teachers in the graded school here the past year and who was reelected for another term, leaves Wednesday for Rock Hill, where she 1 will attend the summer school. We notice "somebody is looking quite sad and lonely already." Cheer up, remember the best of friends must part. 1 Mesdames T. J. Rountree and W. B. Todd are attending the Women's Missionary Union, which is being held _ in Greenville this week. While there 1 they will be the guests of Mrs. L. H. Carlisle, who is very pleasantly remembered here, having lived here a number of years, where Mr. Carlisle I was head bookkeeper for the mill | company. From Greenville Mrs. Todd win go to Anderson, where she will spend several weeks with her mother, Mrs. Burriss, before returning home. ' Mrs. Rountree will return Friday. Mr. William Otto Bryson has resigned his position as section hand in , the card room and will leave next week for Marion, N. C., where he will open an up-to-date drug store. He will have associated with him in the enterprise his father-in-law, I)r. v Reynolds, who is a practicing phy- r sician of that town. Mr. Bryson has t been an industrious operative in the .< Buffalo mill for the past eight years. He is popular and quite a favorite v with every one. He is prominently * j identified with the various secret or- ^ ! ders of our town, also an enthusiastic I church worker, having been an officer ] tin the Methodist church for several f | years. It is genuinely regretted that j we see him leave, though he carries j I with him to his* new field of labor the - j very best wishes of a host of friends ^ j who hope for him a successful career. \ Rev. 1). W. Garvin of Union occu- i pied the pulpit at the Baptist church ] here Sunday, both morning and at ( night. Our people were favorably im- j pressed with him and highly enjoyed j his . sermons. Large congregations 1 ' greeted hirn at each service. ] Miss Annie I.ouise Green, who | taught in the graded school the past j year, and was also librarian at the library, left Wednesday for her home at ' Newberry. Mr. J. J. Bates spent the week-end with relatives at I'acolet. Mrs. E. A. Tucker of Bessimer City, N. C., who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Hilton, and niece, Mrs. J. L. Padgett, left for her home Monday. Mr. C. A. Greer and family will move this week to Attaray, where he holds a lucrative position with the mill company. Pedestrian.
