South Carolina must do her full duty. The patriotism, loyalty and devotion to duty of our National Guard is unquestioned. These men ' must have and will receive the encouragement of all true patriotic South Carolinians. I urgently call upon you to use both your personal and official influence to see that the proper enthusiastic encouragement is given to the members of the National Guard from your city. I appeal to the employers to assist their employes in making response to this call to duty. They should receive prompt and positive assurance that their positions will not be jeopardized by their absence. Duty calls.
