Washington, June 12.?Coincident with continuing erports from consul? all over northern Mexico telling ol the rapid spread of anti-American feeling, the war department today ordered 1,500 additional regular troop? to the border. Pershing's expedition. No case of attack on the persons ol American residents in Mexico has been reported, although there hav< been one or two attacks on vacant consulates and other America nprop erty. Part of the increasing apprehensi'or here is due to the renewed raids ir the Laredo region. Several reports dealing with the situation there liav< been received. Officials declined t( reveal details, but seemed to believ< a serious purpose was behind tht bandit raid on the Coleman ranch Three raiders were killed and thre< captured .one report said, adding tha they attempted to burn a railroac bridge near Laredo but failed. To Fill in Gaps. The new force sent to join Gen Funston's border patrol, Secretarj Baker said, was to fill in paps in th< guard such as that near Laredo. I will be composed of ten companies o coast artillery and a batallion of en gineers. The artillerymen will b< withdrawn from fortifications betweer Portland, Me., and Sandy Hook an< the engineers will go from barracks ii this city. The secretary said then was no present intention of calling out additional National Guard regi ments for border duty. Gen. Mann, commanding at Laredo reported today that a patrol of thre< cavalrymen was fired on during th< night of June 10 near the town o Hachi'ta, and Private W. L. Saunders Troop Iv, Twelfth cavalry, slightl] wounded. Two mounted Mexican: who did the firing escaped. a message from Capt. Burrage commanding the battleship Nebraski at Vera Cruz, said there was consid erable unrest in that region, due ap parently to the currency situation There were no evidences of unfriend liness towards Americans, the mes sage said. U added that the Car ranza government had been sending troops and ammunition inland. Capt Burrage did not know the object o these troop movements. Warns De Facto Government. The state department, througl Special Agent Rodgers at Mexic< City has called the attention of th< de facto government to the anti American outbreaks which for nearh two weeks have been spreading stead ily. Many towns have held mass meet ings and protested against the con tinued presence of American trooD: in Mexico. In two or three instance: American property has been attacke* but no threats against lives of Amer icans have been reported. The report of consuls telling of the agitatioi were turned over to the Carranza of ficials more as a matter of informa tion than as representations. When his regular troops are in control ap parently Gen. Carranza has earnestl; tried in most cases to prevent th< holding of protest meetings and ii some places contemplated meeting and parades have been prevented There are instances, however, wher the troops appear to have stood idl; by while the agitators stirred up an tagonism against the United States. Officials have been unable to de termine the inspiration behind th< sudden outbreak of anti-Americai feeling or to estimate the ability o Gen. Carranza to protect Americai lives and property. They feel tha the real danger 'lies in the possibl action of irregular forces now unde the Carranza banner whose comman ders yield only doubtful allegiance t the central government. Several con sular agents have frankly declared ii their reports that any eventualit: might be expected if the agi'tatio continued to spread. Lansing at Work. Secretary Lansing still is at wor on his reply to the Carranza note de manding withdrawal of America forces. He again declined today t discuss it in any respect. It is no known whether the present disturbe condition which has arisen since th reply was started will affect the ton of the document. It is indicated th reply may not be sent for a week o ten days. The coast artillery ordered to 'th bbrder today includes two companie from Portland, Me., two from Bostor two from Narrajjansett Bay, two fror Long Island, one from eastern Ne\ York, one from southern New Yorl nnd one from Sandy Hook. Appro* imately 1,000 men will compose thi provisional battalion, about 500 strong is composed of Companies A, B, < and D. I bad those spells about twi f a year and have had them for abo - four years. Sometimes my feet a 2 ankles would swell to double norm i size and sometimes a large blist i would form on my knees. This wou 1 first turn red and burn just exact b like a red hot iron being pressed r me. In a day or two it would tu - into a real blister. When this blist was opened and the water let out , would turn into a very bad sore. 2 tell you, I suffered terribly. I ha e not been able to work for four mont f because of my poor health. Son , times I would turn black in the fai j and have been Droouneed dead wh 3 in the grip of these spells. These t^ conditions were gradually killing n i, I do not believe that I would ha i lived very long if I had not got reii - when I did.
