BUFFALO
Buffalo, May 31.?The revival
which has been in session at the Methodist
church for the past two weeks,
closed Sunday night with splendid
results, about twenty uniting with the
church. Rev. J. O. Burnett of Wilson,
S. C., did thi preaching. His sermons
were forceful and effective.
I'rof. W. T. Merritt of Camden was in
charge of the singing and charmed the
large congregations with his melodious
voice. Both Rev. Mr. Burnett and

people here generally who hope to
have them again in the future. It is
earnestly hoped that the fruits of
their labors will live for quite awhile
ti the hearts and lives of those who
were so fortunate as to attend these
services. They left Monday morning
for Columbia.
The closing exercises of the Buffalo
High school were held last
Thursday night in the school auditorium,
which was largely attended.
The exercises were well received and
greatly enjoyed and showed excellent
taste and careful training on the part
of the teachers. Under the principalship
of Prof. F. E. Shuford and his
able and experienced corps of teachers,
brings to a close one of the most
successful terms in the history of the
school, the progress made by the pupils
is very gratifying to the patrons,
md the teachers are to be commendi<d
for the year's work.
Mr. Henry W. Millwood, one of our
j' est and most highly respected citi
ens, died Sunday at 12 o'clock after
lingering illness of that awful and
'incurable disease, cancer of the
i v>outh. Mr. Millwood was a-christian
i gentleman, a member of the Baptist
t hurch and was liked and held in high
esteem by everyone. His death is a
listinct loss to our community. His
remains were Interred in the old family
graveyard near Pacolet Monday in
the presence of a large concourse of
friends and loved ones. He leaves a
irirge family connection to mourn his
;!eath. We extend to them our sympathy
in their sad bereavement.

polite postmaster, has moved in the
house of Mr. J. J. Bates on Duncan =
Heights.

attended services at the Methodise
church Sunday.

Mr. Joe Wright of Glendale is visiting
his mother, Mrs. M. E. Wright,

M rs. B. H. Harvey was summoned
to the bedside of her sister in Spartanburg
Friday, who was seriously
ill. We are very glad to learn since
her condition is improved,
