The house \va, tastefully decorated in autumn leaves and chrysanthemums, red leaves and L'African chrysanthemums being used in the sitting: room and yellow leaves and chrysanthemums in the dining: room. When the guests had assembled. pencils and cards were passed and ten minutes was given in which to sketch a likeness of the grooiiw Miss Jeter was judge and decided that Miss Mattie Gregory was the best artist and she was awarded the prize, a kitchen spoon, which, in turn, | was presented to the bride-elect. The guests were then ushered into the dining room, where a salad course with chocolate was served. The dining table was very dainty with its centerpiece of small yellow chrysanthemums and ferns encircled with green candles. Place cards with tiny nanu-painwn nearts wore used and the fortune of each young lady was found in a small envelope on the back of each card. These were read after the quests returned to the sitting room, causing much merriment. After a few minutes passed in pleasant conversation the bride-elect was blindfolded and all the guests slipped out of the room.
