Four little ] girls were sitting in a buggy on the street, the horses became frightened and dashed down the street at break neck*speed. A young man from Union, Bernard Fant, jumped from the car and grabbed the horses by the bits; he was thrown against a post but in some marvelous way managed to regain his hold and climbed into the buggy. He succeeded in cutting the horses loose from the buggy, saving the little girls and the horses, too, and he was not a second too soon for 1 they would have crashed into a train I of cars.
