Ga., on last Thursday morning, Aug.

a surprise to the friends of the young
couple in Union, but cordial good a

them to their new home in

Mrs. Jolly is the youngest daugh- 3

Little "Joe Brown" is Dead.
"Joe Brown" the little dog owned I
by Mr. Milton McNeace and known ~
to everybody in Union, is dead. He
had a severe case of black tongue and
was sick only a few days. "Joe A
urown was a aog, dui ne nau a nig,
kind heart and was true to his
friends.
Many people in Union, especially p
in the business section, will miss c
this little dog. He used to go up one
side of the street and down the other
and say "Good Morning" to his
friends and none of them were ever
too busy to stop and give him a pat
and a kind word.
Joe Brown was named for the gov- 1
crnor of Georgia.
We hope little "Joe Brown" has
gone where all good doggies go. ^

PAINT PUT ON
- Think of paint put on and not by
' the gallon.
A gallon of paint in the can is of
no account to anybody. Put it on.
Mow rp/?lron ifo '

The secret is: <jne paint goes twice
as far as another. A good one goes
' twice as far as the bad one.
You have a job, say an average job.
It'll take 10 gallons Devoe and 12 or
15 or 18 or 20 of middling poor very '
, poor and trash. You know painter's
, wages in your town. Put the price
[ of a gallon of paint and the painter's
day-wage together. You can, we 1
, can't.
Devoe costs less than any inferior
paint; there are hundreds of thein.
, One paint is as good as another,
