In the item of Accounts Receivable (see Ex. B) the City of Union is charged with $3,000.00 Water and Light account for year beginning July 1, 1912 and ending June 30, 1913. In the item of Net earnings (see Ex. C) deducting the $3,000.00 charged to the City of Union you will notice that your earnings have been $5,758.39. They have had good rains in some sections while some places they are needing it. Most of the farmers are through laying by. The Children's Day exercises were held last night the 20th at the Gault school house. The children did well. The speakers were Rev. W. II. Ariail and Hon. H. C. Little; both making good speeches for the occasion. The collection was also good. Mr. Cullman showed me 0 an over shot water wheel that is con- I" venient in bringing the water about 1-4 of a mile through a small pipe ^ from the spring to his home. This j wheel turns by the overflow of water c on the wheel through a trough that forces the water through the pipe (l that goes up hill as well as on level. t This wheel goes all the time without s any one about, only the water. Mr. a Call man is a successful farmer and ^ has things convenient. Mr. C. O. r Allen has one on his farm just like t [ it. These are the only ones I know of. c This beats anything that I have seen in the way of bringing water. Miss Ruth Ariail, of Jonesville, is t visiting Miss Myrtle Gault this week, t Mrs. T. M. Tweed spent last week a with her daughter, Mrs. Nannie . Smith. j Mr. Walter Tweed, of Pacolet, visited relatives in this section last week. Mr. Boyd Gallman, of Pacolet, was a visitor at Sunday school Sunday. Miss Bessie Palmer, of Jonesville, visited Miss Bessie Kelly Sunday and attended Sunday school. Mr. W. H. Paste was a visitor in d this section on Sunday. ^ Mr. W. A. Smith is visiting in thie community. We. can sympathize with Mr. J. M. d Foster, of Jonsville, whose wife died d last week. She had been sick a long time with pellagra. Mrs. Foster was a daughter of Mr. J. S. Pickens, and she has many relatives in this section to mourn her loss. Mr. (iary Mabry and Mr. John R. Jeffries, of Cherokee county, visited at the home of Mr. M. C. Gault on if Sunday. " Mr. T. A. Lancaster, of West g Springs section, visited his brother, % Wallace, last Sunday. Moxy.
