rtR. WILLARD DARES
BLEASE TO SUE HIM.
J. T. Willard, a leading real estate
nan of Spartanburg, a supporter of
rudge Jones, alderman from ward 1,
md one of the most enterprising men
n Spartanburg is to face a slander
mit at the hands of Governor Blease,
f the governor makes good his threat
:'o sue him. In the report of the
:ampaign meeting from Union Saturday
the telegraph wires got the
lame tangled up and made the name
appear J. T. Wiljis, instead of J. T.
Willard.
It seems that Mr. Willard wrote to
a relative in Union, a Blease man,
asking him to get on the Jones side.
The governor read the letter. He
said: "To show what dirty filth the
Jones gang is using to try to beat
me."
As read by the governor, the letter
indicated an effort to induce one of
his supporters (a cousin of the
writer) to desert the governor, as
"you are a consistent church member,
and do not drink or gamble."
The governor said that when the campaign
was over he would make J. T.
Willard answer for "the dirty lie he
has sent out."
Mr. Willard stated today that he is
solvent, that if the governor gets a
judgment for slander against him he
would pay it, and branded the governor
as afraid to bring the suit unless
he made good his threat. Of
course, Mr. Willard does not think
that Blease will sue, and few others
have any idea that the governor was
in earnest in his intentions.
Spartanburg Bleaseites are expected
to return the courtesy extended
them by the Greenville Bleaseites.
The Spartans are expected to visit
Greenville on August 22, when the
stare campaign meets tnere ana are
expected to held up two hands in the
hand primary and are also expected
to make all the noise possible. Of
course, as true Bleaseites, the Spartans
will respond and the Southern
Railway will haul them over.
A young lady was sitting in her automobile.
She was ready to move.
Her motor had stopped. A young
man asked her to allow him to crank
it. She saw his red badge and then
got out of the machine and cranked
it herself.
A farmer was talking to J. T. Wiliard
today. He said he was going to
irote for Blease because he "had made
up his mind to vote for him and
nothing in the world could change it."
He said he did not know anything
about the two men,.but W. hat^ 'iiaM
done made up his mind to vote for
Doley."
A traveling man was invited out to
line. He wore Jones colors. He was
isked to take them off. He ate din
ler at the hotel?Spartanburg Joui*lal.

before my eyes." Foley Kidiey
pills are a uric acid solvent and
re effective for the various forms of
heumatism. Glymph's Pharmacy and
