At the Opera House.
The Williams Comedy Co. have
been playing here this week and the
patronage has been very good considering
the inclemency of the
weather. This is a company of
clever people and their plays should
receive a large, patronage wherever I
they go. Mr. T. 1'. DeCiafferelly,
the proprietor, is a courteous and
pleasant man as well as a fine actor.,
The performances are clean and upto-date,
the specialties are new and
spicy, and each member is well
adapted for their respective parts.
Dick Mason is a clever comedian
and his stunts keep the audience in
a continuous uproar. Little May
Blossom Williams is a "peach" and
will some day become a "star" in
the theatrical world. The Williams
sisters are well known to the people
of Union and are always well received.
Marie DeGafferelly, in
"The Unwritten Law," made quite
a hit here; she is a fine actress and
deserves a high place in the theatri
cal held. As a, whole this company
ranks among the best and should be
- given a liberal patronage wherever
3 they go.
i Don't forget the matinee Satur,
day afternoon at 3 o'clock. A Teddy
Bear will be given to the child
B holding the lucky number.
t "The Banker's Child."
' The four-act comedy drama, "The
Banker's Child," will be presented
? for one night only, Thursday, March
19. Manager Harry Shannon pro1
mises one of the best productions of
1 the season, and judging from the
flattering press reports at hand,
f every promise will be fulfilled. The
- staging of the play is sumptuous,
s Tons of special scenery and electrict
al effects are carried. During the
. action of the play a number of
clever singing and dancing speeial"
tics will be introduced. Prices 25,
50, 75c.
Going to California.
Mr. J. Rowland Pittman was in
r town Saturday and Sunday to see
u home folks before starting on a trip
across the continent. Mr. Pittman
' has decided to go to Pasadena, California,
to go into the real estate bus()
iness. He will be associated with
# Mr. Hcllama, of Greenville, who
has been in the real estate business
l8 in Greenville for some time. Mr.
y Henry McGee, Jr., will accompany
Mr. Pittman on his trip to California.
Pasadena, the place to which
!j they expect to go, is one of the
places noted for its tourists' hotels,
^ some of the largest and finest of
' these hotels in the State being located
there, and is a suburb of Ix>s
[ Angeles, the metropolis of Southern
' California.?Greenwood Index.
Mr. Pittman js well known in
' Union county, and besides numbers
s of relatives has hosts of friends
e whose good wishes follow him to his
far away home. We hope to have
a letter from him occasionally for
the Union Times.
