' ' * \ * Beautiful Wedding at ionesville. Jonesville, April 24.?Sunday was a cold, raw day, and Monday was a rainy day, from early morn till night big tires are comfortable. All the fruit that has bloomed is killed. Some of the apple trees are just blooming and it is probable that they may escape the cold. All tender vegetables and trees are killed. Some cotton ami corn has been planted but the bulk of the crops j are yet to be planted. If Monday had been a good day nearly every , farmer in this country would have j been planting cotton seed, but they are tied up for several days. Karly Tuesday morning a freight got off the track at the siding above the tank, but it was soon pulled on by another engine, and the track repaired in a few minutes, and all went 011 as unusual. Capt. R. W. Scott has commenced moving out his old storehouse to make room for his new brick store. Capt. Scott's old store house is one of the old land marks of Jonesville, having been built by J. II. Littlejohn and Company about the year 1877. It was a good store house for that day, but it must give place to a letter one for the present day. A beautiful church wedding was solemnized at the Baptist church at 1 o'clock p. m., today, when Mr. Joseph Cunningham, of Greenville, and Miss Beulah A. Spears, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Spears were made man and wife. The solemn and impressive ceremony was pronounced by Rev. L. M. Rice, of Union. The church was neatly decorated inside the bar with ferns, ivy and other evergreens. The floor was carpeted and the isle laid in white. The bride was dressed in a white flannel suit, and held in her hand a large hunch of flowers. Miss Bessie Summer, of Union, played the wedding march, while the bridal party entered in the following order: Miss Anna Cunningham with Mr. C. DeCamp; Miss Inez Spears with Mr. P. Q. Merrick; the groom with his brother, Mr. Frank Cunningham, l?est man, the bride with Miss Maggie Spears, her sister, who gave the bride to the groom at the altar and the ceremony followed. The ring was used wlncn made the ceremony more impressive. Messrs. L. G. Southard and Forest Spears served as ushers. Alter the benediction the bridal party filed out of the church and the bride and groom entered a carriage and drove immediately to the Enterprise Hotel. As they drove away the carriage was covered n with a shower of rice. At the Enterprise Hotel dinner was served with the following menu: Celery, Lettuce, Olives, French Peas, Young Roast Turkey, Stuffing, Country Ham, Steamed Rice, Pickies, Heinz Apple Butter, Chicken Salad, Potato Salad, White Bread, Chocolate Cake, I>cmon Cake, Strawberry Ice Cream, Iced Tea, Coffee. The dining room of the hotel was t>eautifully decorated with ferns, ivy and flowers. After dinner the bride and groom drove to Spartanburg in a carriage, and from there they will go to Greenville, their future home. The bridal presents were many and very costly. Miss Spears is a beautiful and lovely young woman, and she has many friends about Jonesville who wish her a happy and successful life. Mrs. L. M. Rice accompanied her husband to Jonesville today. Other out of town visitors who attended the wedding were: Mr. Milton G. Smith, of Greenville; Mr. S. M. Burts of Spartanburg; Mr. G. W. I Brown, of Greenville, Mr. R. O. Herring, of Columbia, sj>ent last Sunday with the family of Mr. J W. Rates. Mrs. I). E. Camak is visiting her father, Mr. Rlair, at Itoekton, Fairheld County, who is quite ill. Rev. 1). E. Camak assisted Rev. John G. Farr in a protraeted meeting last week at Ix>ckhart. Mrs. W. F. Rryant and Miss Terressa Wood, of I'acolet, are shopping in Jonesville today. Mrs. J. R. Foster, who has been quite ill for some time, is not so! well today as she has been for the j last few days. Dr. Herl>ert T. Haines has gone to Chester, where he is to he martied today to Miss Ada" Cork hi 11. Mr. George C. Perrin accompanied him to act as best man.
