The Open Winter.
While some people profess to like cold
weather because they claim It Is more
healthful, yet It must be admitted that
the open wiuter has some good poluts.
Cool dealers and the manufacturers
of snow shovels doubtless see the
healthy side of zero weather, with
drifts three feet deep, but the man who
has the buying of the coal and the i
shoveling of the snow on his uilnd gen- 1
ernlly thinks that he could get along
With Just a trifle less health and a good
deal more money.
It is very pleasant to take a sleightide
If you are a pretty girl and do not
have to put up something ltke $5 an
hour for the sport, but It generally
takes a young mun who Is making $7
a week longer to recover from that
than It would from a case of the grip.
Taken all round, for a steady companion
the winter that may be trained
to eat out of your hand is much pleasanter
than the one that Is playfully
trying to bite a chunk out of your ear
every time that you venture abroad.
