Thanksgiving at Santuc. L
Santuc, Nov. 3c.?The town
was almost as quiet as a grave- b
yard Thanksgiving day, as nearly c
everybody had "vamoosed the n
ranch,"?gone off. I do not knowiE
whether nearly everybody was h
hunting' or not. but judging from ; u
the sounds from the fields, they n
were. There were no big affairs c
because of it. I do not know if tl
many gave thanks.?I nev.er heard i h
them.?hut no doubt some did. and C
on the other hand no doubt many tl
did not. 1 do not suppose many |
know if there is One to give thanks
to, or that they know how. Perhaps
they have never given thanks. \
There may be some who think
thanks ought to be given them.
There were few in town, even to
get drunk, if anybody, anywhere,
did get- drunk.
