Ever Rendered in Union.
Attorney V. E. DePass, of the !
Union har, appeared before the Su-? 1
preme Court in Columbia, on Wednesday,
representing his client, Jno.
S. Kice, in suit against Lock hart i
Cotton Mills. A verdict had been
rendered by the Court of Common
Pleas, but an appeal was carried to
the Supreme Court. On Wednesday
the appeal was heard and dismissed,
Mr. DePass winning his
case. The suit was for damage to
Trerson sonic months aero. This is i
the largest verdict ever rendered in
Union county.

Only four eases have been settled
in the court of Common Pleas.
\V. F. Farr, et al., vs. Harris
and Foster, land suit. Verdict directed
by court giving lands specified
in complaint to plaintiff.
V. T. Lindsay vs. Southern Hailway
Co., suit for damages. Verdict
for plaintiff consent.
