YOUNG WHITE MAN ARRESTED.
Lee Sexton, of Union Cotton Mill, 1
Charged With Complicity in
Infanticide.
On Monday morning Lee Sexton
was arrested at the Union >i
Cotton Mills; he was there seek- c
ing work, having left Monarch t
Mills. He has worked at both ?
Aetna, Monarch and the Knit- c
ting Mills. s
The warrant for arrest charged i
complicity with the killing of the i
unknown child, found Monday, 1
June 25th in the gully not far! t
from Gage Avenue. It seems ?
that Sexton did not hear the war- \
rant read, or did not understand
it, for he stated Monday afternoon
that he did not know on
what charge he had been arrested.
Sexton is a young married man
having come here from North
Carolina, and married the daughter
of Mrs. S. T. Fore, who lived j
at the Union Cotton Mill but later
moved to the Knitting Mill.
The inquest, with acting coro- |
ner Young continued its session
Monday afternoon, examining
eight witnesses. The trend of
the testimony was toward an investigation
concerning this man
Sexton and his wife. She was
suspected of being the mother of I
the child. There was no testimony
whatever implicating Lee
Sexton, as it all went to prove or U
disprove that Mrs. Sexton was m
the mother. r,

was such as to make it unfit fB >

say that there was much conflict;
