the hand played "Dixie," the ['
thousands cheered, and the little |
girls showered flowers down upon
the gray heads that passed below j ^
them. Then it. was that this man, },
who had faced death a thousand (
times upon the battlefield, gave
way, and the tears rolled in streams *
down his weather-worn face.
"Oh!" said he, "I thank God
i there'll be little girls in heaven. I
