Policemen McKissick and Davis
seized a keg of whiskey Wednesday
in the express ollice containing four
gallons and three quarts of liquor.
The keg came to Chas. White,
colored, hut Charley said that he
knew nothing of it, for he had not
ordered any such package. With
this information the whiskey was
Seized.
The Crescent Comedy Company
that pleased so many people in the
opera house this season plays a return
date all next week. Admission
15, 25 and 35 cents. Seats on
sale Saturday at Union Drug Co.
Tuesday morning the passenger
train due here at 9 o'clock was
thrown from the track at Frost's
station 5 miles above Columbia.
Two coaches left the track and
turned over on their side. The
passengers were considerably shaken
up hy the sudden shock, hut only
two passengers were painfully hut
not at all seriously injured. A section
of this train caine to Union
ahout 3 o'clock p. m. and the remainder
which had to go hy way
of Newberry and hack down' hy
Alston reached hero at 5.30 p. m.
Tho cause of the accident was said to
have been a broken rail. Railroad
