for the purpose of deciding upon a
uniform rah? of a.v' ssnvnt of property
throughout t!i" entire county.
The idea v . that each hoard should
know at what rate of valuation
property would he assessed hy the
hoards < I the other township* and
it vas ee.usidereil expedient that the
members of the hoards meet and
consult and thus he enabled to agree
upon a uniform valuation. After
some discussion and in view of the
fact that the legislature had passed
no law fixing a standard hy which
! ( qualization hoaids should he governed.
it was necessary in order to
I make all things equal in matters of
prop rty asseesment that the said
hoards of M|ualizalion should agree
upon a uniform rate, therefore the
equalization hoards of the several
townships agreed upon 00 per cent
of the market value of the property
returned as a fair rate of valuation
for assej-saient upon which to levy
and pay taxes for the year 1 t?0(>,

market or private sale.
