Literature.
Literature is the product of ineu of
genius before they found out that the
Urea of genius won't act as an Injunction
against a February blizzard to put
It out of cominisslou in their little
8 by 10 den of literature.
When a literary man falls to keep
warm over pure literature he does a
stunt or two for a comic supplement In
order that he may get enough microbe
permeated money to buy coal to aid the
aforesaid tires of genius in keeping
winter at bay while he again applies
himself to the production of pure literature.
^
As a business literature does not
stack up very well with being press
agent for a popular show, but for real j
twenty-two carat fame it is almor.t I
equal to being an authority on Wag- j
nerian music.
Proof.
The fellow was a genius
Quite different from the mob.
And ho felt sure of that because
He couldn't hold a Job.
More Effective Ones.
"Docs he expect to leave any footprints
on the sands of time?"
"Xo; he will he entislicd if lie can
leave a few on the eont tails of that
young man who wants to lie his sonin-law."
Not That Kind.
"1 suppose she tends the sod over her
husband's gravq with her cwn hands."
"Xo; she hires a man. She does not
want the impression to get out that she
is a grass widow."
Had Enough.
Ho sat down on a bumblebee.
And. though ho didn't swear,
He didn't ask It to come home
And be his easy chair.
