Be it ordained and ordered by the
Town Council of the Town of Union, S.
C., and by the authority of the same:
That an election be held in the Town
of Union, S. C., on Tuesday, June 7th,
for Mayor, four Wardens and one Commissioner
of Public Works.

Palls shall open at 0 a. m. and close
at 6 p. m.
That the term of office of Mayor and
Wardens is for two years, and Commissioner
of Public Works for six years.
That none but duly registered and
qualified electors shall be eligible to
rote in said election.
Managers of said election are required
before opening polls to take the oath
prescribed under the law for same.
Upon ths close of the polls, the managers
at each precinct will publicly
count and declare the vote of the precinct
and then proceed with the certificate
of the precinct vote to the Council
Chamt>er and there tabulate the ward
vote of the Town and declare *the election.

Notice of Meeting of Stockholders
and Application for Amendment
of Charter.
Notice is hereby given that a meeting
of the stockholders of the Union and
Gleen Springs Railroad Company will
be held at the office of the President of
said Company, in Union, S. C., at 10
o'clock a. m., on Tuesday, the 7th dav
of June, 1904, for the purpose of considering
and voting on the question of
Amending the Charter of said Railroad
company in the following particulars,
to-wit: "Making its Kastern terminus
a point on the line of the Georgia, Carolina
and Northern- Railroad, (now
owned or operated by the Seaboard Air
Line Railway) between the town of
Carlisle, S. C., and where said Railroad
crosses Broad river, and authorizing
and empowering said Union and Glenn
Springs Railroad Company to construct,
maintain and operate an extension of
its Railroad from the fownof Union, 8.
C., connecting with its present line of
railroad at said place, to a point on the
line of the said G. C- N. R. R., between
the said town of Carlisle and
where said Railroad crosses said Broad
River; along a route through the said
town of Union, and through the townships
of Union and Santuck, in the
County of Union; a total length of
about sixteen miles."
And notice is hereby further given,
that application will be made to the
Secretary of State, at the office of the
Secretary of State, in the City of Columbia,
8. C., at 10 o'clock a. m.. on Friday,
the 10th day of Juno, 1004, for an
Amentment to the Charter of the said
Union and Glenn Springs Railroad
Company, as above set forth.

suit to me to grant him Letters of Administration
on the estate of and
effects of Bessie Rodger, deceased.
These are, therefore, to cite and admonish
all and singular the kindred and
creditors of the said Bessie Rodger,
deceased that they be and appear before
me, in the Court of Probate, to be held
at Union C. II., South Carolina, on the
Hth day of May, mxt, after publication
hererf, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, to
show cause, if any they have, why the
said Administration should not be
