A Most Enjoyable Occasion. On Tuesday night bv invitation of its President, tho Union County Medical Society held its regular meeting at the j elegant home of JDr. J. II. Hamilton. The Society met in the spacious parlors about 8 o'clock and transacted its regular business. A paper on the subject of Da Grippe was read by a member and was thoroughly discusssd by all the members present, after which the appointments were made for the next meeting and the Society adjourned. About this time some of the laity began to lill the parlors, when shortly : afterwards supper was announced. Tho writer will not endeaver to do justice to the supper as his descriptive powers are insufficient; suffice it to say that a more elegant supper has seldom, if ever, been' seen in Union, and the cuests ! showed by their action that they appreciated the same. The supper consisted of seven courses of most substantial and elegant viands. If there were any defects about that suppdV tho writer failed to observe them. After the repast and cigars were served, the vice president called the Society to order in one of the parlors when and : where by unauimous vote of the body the Vice President was instructed to tender ttio thanks of five association to ^ Dr-^i iUis. Hamilton. The President was invited into said parlor when the Vice President tendered the thanks of the body to its worthy President as earnestly and well as he was capable of; every member then making some appropriate remarks along that line of thought. The President responded very feelingly and eloquently to the same and said it would ever be his aim to make tho Society a power for good, intellectually, and morallv, for Union and its vicinity. At 12 o'clock the entertainment came oo an end, and the Society is indebted to Dr.J J. H. Hamilton, its President, for^the most pleasant evening it has experienced during its existence. Mbmukii.
