The Death Penalty.
A little thing sometimes results in
death. Thus a mere scratch, insignificant
cuts or punv boils have paid the
death penalty. It is wise to have
Bucklen s Arnica salve ever handy. It's
the best Salve on earth and will prevent
fatality when Burns, Sores, Ulcers and

Suicide Prevented.
The startling announcement that a
preventive of suicide had been found
will interest many. A run down system,
or despondency, invariably precedes
suicide and something has been
found that will prevent that condition
which makes suicide likely. At the
first thought of self-destruction take
Electric Bitters. It being a great tonic
and nervine will strengthen the nerves
and build up the system. It's also a
great Stomach, Liver and Kidney regulator.

A Show Born In Union.
It has doubtless happened that
shows have gone out of existence in
Union before this. It is probably
true that until no.w, no show has
come into being in Union. Mr.
W. Cf. Hughes has gotten up a genuine
negro minstrel company.

K 1 itor Union Times: It is now
about sixty days sinoe the bridge at
Orindall was swept away, and so far
as the traveling public knows, there
is no effort being made to fix a way
to cross the river. There are some
gentlemen there with some small
bateaux that will carry you across foi
a small fee, but buggies or wagons ol
any considerable weight cannot cross
at all. Men, and women too, are
daily risking thbir lives in crossing.
It is the only orossinz on the rivei
between Qaffney and Jonesvilie and
Union. The owners of land there,
Messrs. Kison and Nance, gave written
permission to build and land a

days after the flood. But, so far ae
