A fire occurred in lflOl in which
some live stock was burned. Can
you put 1110 on to any points leading
to the. identification of the party or
parties who did the burning? 1 think
it was incendiary becau-e it was in p,
the summer time and thero was no -? ,
lire in the house at that lime of '
night. It was burned before day. D
THE AXiWICR,
Tlie question asked by this gentleman
is rather difficult to answer, as
there is some very distinct hidden
condition concerning the burning of
said building. This lire, as I see it, v
was at or near lridnhh : the ninee h
oi lira must have been situated near lo
a running stream of water, as I seem
to see a stream, also a rather middle
age negro, bo conies across water, lie
has s team that looks rather poorly,
and keeps - a poor, bony horse of a -p
rather light color, not a gray, more ^
of a tan or muddy looking cream Si
horse, his purpose is robbery, then
fire. 1 scpui to hear, as I write, dogs ,
barking at an excited rato all the
early part of night; there was grain U
or something taken away tlmt appoara
in sacks or bags; there was some y,,
good deal taken and driven away, f.p- *-*
pearenely back across this small o\
water. The mules that were burned
were not matches, or.o was a rather
lar^o, bob v, (oh, not eo ve-y bony.)
dark colored mule, the other or.o ?
seems to bo a plump, round, fat R
mule of a rocluish brown; seems 1 ke Hi
one mule wus namo Jerry, seems like
0:1c Mike. ThorQ was a double setting
of fire, it was sot in two placea
at the lime and burned very rapidly.
There has been sc.-ne suspicion iegarbing
this fira that has been wrong
and the wrong parly has been accused,
but this will not be very dif- i
ticult to trace as I see it. Find the A
negro who drove a bad looking croam
or light tan colored horse. Will the
gentleman i sking this question please
state if the names of his mules are
correct and all that is correct in this
caso and 1 will go further with it lor
him. Mas. It. P. Wiuo,
