The Town Council hare determined
to pat down cement pavements on Main
Meet right away. Mr. Jas. II. Hamilton,
city engineer of Chester, 8. C., was

taken to Yorkville with his horse and
buggy. He was tried at Hickory Grove '
by Magistrate Smith on charges of trans
porting liquor and his horse and buggy
were not seized as I was informed. I
gladly make this correction and hope it
has not cast any redaction on any one connected
with it. lie, Jordon Smith, was
not convicted for anything but transporting.

the capture. Dr. L. J. Wood requests
us to state that it was not him, and he
knows nothing about the ailair. The
manuscript could be read either Wood or
