who lived with her widowed mothei
Mrs. Samuel F. Benson, on their fan
near Mount Vernon, Rowan count!
N. C., was assaulted and murdered 1>

afternoon.
The unfortunate woman was at wor
in a field a few hundred yards fror
home, where her cries for help wer
heard.
When the parties arrived at til
scene they found her dead body wit
the skull crushed. There is no cloi
