Mr. McKee, who has been a sufferer for some time with neuralgia, attempted to eoiniuit suicide last Monday night by hanging himself, lie left a note for his wife saying that he would be fouud dead in his barn at his farm on Lite Hawkins place after sundown. Mr. J. T Law son, a neighbor, was told of the matter and he went to the barn and got there just after Mr McKee had fixed the rojte and trap. After considerable coaxing he got him to his house. The police were sent for and he was taken to jail to await a medical examination before sending him to the iusaue asylum. We visited him in the jail and it was a sad i sight, when his fvo little girls called to see him he did not know them and would not speak to tliein. He will be seut to tlie asylum as soon as the Probate J adge returns from Charleston to make out the proper papers. The family have the sympathy of the entire community. hm Meeting of School Trustees. At the meeting of the School Trustees at Hotol Union Wednesday evening of this week tho following teachers were elected: Davis Jellries, Supt., School No. 1; A. W.
