OKANTINCJ SPECIAL LICENSES, 1IT
TOWN OF. UNION, S. C, FOR TIIE
FISCAL YEAR IlEOINNINQ MAY 1,
1902.
He it ordained by the Mayor and Aldermen
of the town of Union, S. (J., in
Council assembled and by the authority
of same.
That every person, linn, company or
cori>oratiou engaged in, or intending to
engage in any trade, business or profession
hereinafter mentioned, within the
limits of the town of Union, shall first
obtain a license from the said Clerk
and Treasurer, and all licenses herein
mentioned shall be non-transferable except
by special permission from the
Mayor or Town Council, and per annum,
if not otherwise specially provided. And
all licenses shall expire on May 1, 1003,
but may be revoked at any time by the
Mayor or Town Council.
Section 1. No peison, lirm or corporation
aha 11 be engaged in, prosecute or
carry on any business, occupation or
proiession hereinafter mentioned without ,
Urst receiving from the town Clerk and
Treasurer, upon the order of the Mayor, ,
a special license therefor, to wit: (
JSec. 2. Every itinerant, trader or
other peison (except licensed auctioneers) (
offering for sale or attempting to sell by
sample within the town at public outcry
or otherwise any goods, wares, merchandise,
fancy articles, spectacles jewelry,
pictures, notions, or oilier articles of
like character or kind, shall pay in advance
a licou o of not less than two
($2 00) dollars per day, eight ($S.00) dollars
per week, or fifty ($50.00) dollars per
year in the discretion of the Mayor or
Town Council.
Sec. 3. Every itinerant physiciau or
vendor or seller of medicine, patent or of
his own make, or practicing as an itinerant
his profession or calling, shall pay a
license of not less than live ($5.01) dollars
per day or twenty ($20.00) dollars per
week in the discretion of the Mayor or
Town Couacil.
Sec. 4 Every persou or persons peddling
or selling within the corporate
limits, fruit, poultry, vegetables, butter,
eggs, or other like articles of produce.

dollars per annum. Provided, that this
section shall not be held to apply to
sellers of produce and like characters
raised on farms in Union county, S C.
Sec. 5. Kacli and every dealer or company
let ailing fresh meats, such as beef,
mutton, pork, lish or oysters and the
like, shall pay a license of lifty ($">0 00)
dollars per year and shall have a flxed
place of business, and said dealer shall
not be permitted to sell from any other
place
Sec. 0 Each and every dealer or company
retailing fresh meats, such as mutton,
beef, pork, and the like, witboat
privilege of selling flsli or oysters, shall
pay a license of thirty-llvo ($35.00) dollars
per year, and shall have a tlxed place
