While in Jouesviile we called in to
tee several of our friends, am >ng
vh nri wpre Messrs. J. W: Scott, Sam
Liitl.-John, J.:L M-Whirter, T. L
U imps, .1 B. Foster, and .1 F. .VIInan,
with whom we had very pleasmfc
chats. Wo had intended to go
aver to the new mills that are going
up in the suburbs of this hustling
little oity and take a look around, but
we were so pleasantly entertained b\
rnir friends, that the time siipped
away unawares, and we found we had
not enough time on our hands to gn
and get hack to catch ihe train, and
our experience when we were last
there was brought vividly to our
mind. We remembered what a hard
race we had to catch the train, by
having stayed and talked to l<>ng
with these friends, but really they
are all so pleasant and sociable and
make one fool so much at home
among them that it is hard to tear
one's self away from the pleasant enjoyment.
We were the recipient of
a watermelon treat by Mr. J. B Foster.
in the afternoon, and in the
evening we took supper at the hospitable
home fit our friend, Mr. T. L.
Haines, where we assisted in destroying
one of the finest Kleekley's that
wo h?\e S'-en this season. It. makes
our month water even yet when we
think of that melon. We are indebted
to our good friend Rev. L. M.
R'ce, who has a good scent on trail,
and knows where to find the good
things, for piloting us in the direc.
tlon of this pleasant home Union
had a good delegation at Jouesville
and they all say they were royally
entertained by the citizens of this
coming town.
We are going back to Jonesvillo
soon and we will tako ri look around
and have something to say of the improvements
going on up there.
Our party arrived home about 10
o'clock at night, the train being some
three hours late.
