Mr. Barhain Sparks, ono of Union
1 county's oldest and well respected citi*
zens, died at his home about 10 o'clock
i Tuesday morning, of heart dropsy. He
has been suffeiing for some time with
the disease, but had sufficiently recover*
ed to get about this summer and he
1 picked a bale of cotton. It is thought
that he contracted pneumonia, and the
z dropey came on again, and claimed hiin
* for a victim. Mr. Sparks was a kind
( neighbor and will be missed in his com*
, muuity.

Mr. Harris is a hustler and certainly
understands his business ,

and while some, who are not so powerfully
up on real estate, think they
brought good prices, we have failed
to hear of any one whQ is willing to 1

profit. In fact several were offered ,
profits of $5 to $25 per lot before the
sale was over.
Everybody who attended the sale
had a good time. The free lot was
disposed of by giving everyone In the I
crowd a numbered ticket; duplicate
tickets were then placed in a hat and
